Away from Home Meal Needs
My Own Meals, Inc. develops food systems for unique away-from-home meal needs,
particularly for institutions, military, off-shore drilling locations and government
use. Customers include hospitals, retail stores, US and international government and non-government
aid agencies, institutions and military.
Large and Surge Orders
Orders are shipped initially from Company-maintained inventories and then from surge production. My Own Meals, Inc. maintains an inventory of meals and rations at all times for immediate shipment. Inventories include meals in 227g foil pouches, meals in 283g plastic, microwaveable trays, and assembled military rations. The Company also has a strong and long-proven history of rapid response and surge capability to deliver large orders quickly and to meet emergency needs.
Shipping and Payment
My Own Meals, Inc. ships from existing inventory at standard commercial pricing, usually within two business days of receipt of an approved order. US-address Visa and MasterCard credit cards may be accepted, or orders may be required to be pre-paid.
Advantages of Fully-Cooked, Long Shelf Life Food Products
My Own Meal® brand main course meals are shelf-stable using retort production (a form of the canning process). Our meals should be protected from freezing as they are designed for ambient storage conditions. Freezing actually damages the quality of the meals. Long-term storage consistently below 80F (27C) assures shelf life integrity.
Long shelf-life products do not require refrigeration and allow for safe transportation, handling and storage of foods where refrigeration and fresh water are limited or not available. Consumers enjoy safe and healthful meals, no matter what the environment.
Experience
In 1996, My Own Meals, Inc. became the first defense contractor supplying the first kosher certified US Military ration to all branches of the US Armed Forces, a ration it created and marketed to the US Military. Since 1996, My Own Meals, Inc. has consistently been the supplier of this commercial, military ration, which is distributed via a demand-driven logistics system to reduce government inventories for special items. We became the leader in a program where the US Military purchases rations assembled from commercial components, reducing the need for government-maintained inventories of rations and ration components.
My Own Meals, Inc. also sells and distributes throughout the world to international militaries and governments under contract and/or approved purchase order.
Technical Services and Support
My Own Meals, Inc.’s technical and production teams are experts in menu planning and preparation services and can assist customers in implementing practical solutions to their specific needs and environment.
Health and Sanitation Inspection
Main course meals are produced in United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) inspected production facilities. Meat products carry a USDA-certified symbol. Non-meat main courses are produced in the same facilities under Food & Drug Administration inspection (FDA). Main course meals, assembled ration menus and most other food components are produced in production facilities under the inspection of the US Army Veterinary Command and are listed in the "Directory of Sanitarily Approved Food Establishments for Armed Forces Procurement."
My Own Meals, Inc. Assembly and Distribution center is USDA for export services and warehousing. All company production, warehousing and distribution facilities operate under a system of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) management.
